october

what a poor web presence I'd have with only 12 posts a year. but I've been busy, she whines.

I've been hanging out at kos's place for a while. it's a nice balance between the mainstream media twilight zone and living in a bubble. the efforts to remain sane from within the belly of the beast are helped by going to concerts where they play funny clips between songs (not just of the fans, either) or who just generally exhort you to use your brain ["we hate golf. we like baseball. bush is golf. kerry is baseball."] or whose entire tour is appropriately themed. so we've been doing that, yeah.

also, my gazillions hundreds of students have been producing more work for me to grade. or have been doing the work I produce for them. which I have yet to grade. but I persist.

the highlight of october has been that the calder / miro exhibit finally opened at the phillips. so I've gone to it several times already and have given a standing inviation to everyone I know to join me there on the weekends. there's so much life in the show, it's rejuvenating after each busy busy week. I also got a chance to go thrift store shopping with sienna, who was in town this past weekend, and I'll likely see more of her over the winter.

for the last week of october I exhort you to drink strong coffee, proudly display all those kerry signs, visualize victory, and keep on keeping on.
